Hi I am a resident in Kaggadasapura,

I am really very frustrated from the dogs in kaggadasapura. One of my friends got a dog bite last weekend. Moreover they bark and cry after the mid night which doesn't let us sleep properly in the nights.

Can we do something for this?

Thanks,
Vivek

Hi Vivek,

This is a major issue not only in Kaggadaspura but all across Bangalore. Authorities does not take any preemptive measure to eliminate these stray dogs.
I have sent mails to authorities and even directly to BBMP commissioner. I don't think there is any steps taken.

We need to highlight this issue at Kaggadaspura forum meeting, the details are posted regularly on this w/s and send a mass complaint to health dept.

Hai friends,

Stray dogs menace can be handled if few volunteers come forward to take up this issue and see through it to its logical end.  We need to lodge complaint with BBMP or other concerned authorities and keep reminding them to catch these dogs.  Follow up of action taken by them will get the job done.  Also we need to educate our community to stop dumping garbage on Kaggadasapura Main Road and to dispose them through agencies who are collecting garbage from the apartments.  They charge Rs.30 per month for each flat which comes to Re.1 per day.  Can't we afford this to keep our surroundings clean.  Dogs are attracted to these garbage.  So let us keep them away by proper garbage disposal.

We welcome all of them who are interested in taking up this issue and free Kaggadasapura of Stray dogs.  Anyone who can collect information of how to go about handling this issue and which authority to contact may post your replies here.

Regards,

Umashankar

1) BBMP is responsible for this activity and this needs to be done at regular intervals. The current time is really good as MLC elections are nearing and lots of activities are happening (new roads, bus stop etc) in Bangalore.

2) We can approach our MLC for help and also contact BBMP (I hope Pratibha Raghu is the current MLC) for this activity.

3) I can volunteer, but need a person who is good in Kannada as lots of interaction needs to be done in local language for speedy actions & follow up. I am reachable @ chinnadurain@gmail.com,

Let me know if any one can partner with.
